The Biostatech and TorusWare alliance has been selected among the 7 projects chosen to solve the Galicia Open Future challenge posed by the company: Coren. This initiative is promoted and supported in addition to Telefónica and Coren by the Xunta de Galicia, Innovation Agency (GAIN), IGAPE, Agency for the Technological Modernization of Galicia (AMTEGA) and XesGalicia.
The challenge involves finding solutions to various sub-challenges related to improving the identification and weighing of pigs, and developing predictive models for the evolution of the weight of individuals.
The other selected projects are those proposed by Agropecuaria Girona, the Gradiant technology centre of Vigo, the company Merasys of Vigo, the entrepreneurial project Smart Pig of Santiago de Compostela, the University of Lleida and the startup Ymaging of Barcelona.
The final presentations will take place on January 15, 2019, from which one winning project and three finalists will be selected.
