Biostatnet is co-organising the 3rd Scientific Meeting of the Biostatnet Network, which will take place in Santiago de Compostela on 20 and 21 January 2017. In addition, a satellite workshop on GAMLSS models will be held on 19 January.<\/p>\n

Following the successful editions of 2011 and 2013, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Santiago de Compostela will host this new scientific event, which will bring together more than a hundred researchers from different disciplines, especially mathematicians, statisticians, computer scientists, physicians and biologists. The Biostatnet Network currently brings together more than 200 researchers from 25 Spanish universities, 22 biomedical institutions and 20 foreign universities.<\/p>\n
On the 19th, we will start with the CGAMLSS Satellite Workshop: Copula Generalised Additive Models for Location, Scale and Shape with R, which will be given by Giampiero Marra from the University College London.<\/p>\n
Starting on the 20th, we will have various activities among which we can highlight the guest lecture by Professor KyungMann Kim, from the University of Wisconsin. Several lectures, oral communications, round tables, and workshops (one on software and another on design of experiments) will be held.
