We are delighted to share the publication of a new national multicenter study in the prestigious journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S2666168326005033\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>European Urology Open Science<\/strong><\/a>, titled: <em>\u00abPSA Response as a Prognostic Marker in Metastatic Hormone-sensitive Prostate Cancer: Comparison with Tumor Volume (CHAARTED)\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This important work, co-led by PhD candidate <strong>Roc\u00edo Mart\u00ednez Corral<\/strong>, <strong>Dr. Pedro de Pablos<\/strong>, <strong>Dr. Daniel P\u00e9rez Fentes<\/strong>, <strong>Sergio Ant\u00f3n Fuente<\/strong>, and other co-authors, holds special value for us: our colleague Sergio Ant\u00f3n Fuente carried out the entire statistical component from Biostatech S.L., taking full charge of the analysis.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #2980b9; font-size: 16px;\">What Does This Research Contribute?<\/h3>\n<p>Until now, the management and prognostic assessment of metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) has largely been guided by baseline tumor volume (the CHAARTED classification). However, this traditional approach only provides a static snapshot of the disease.<\/p>\n<p>This study, conducted on a robust cohort of <strong>777 patients<\/strong> from multiple hospital centers across Spain, demonstrates that evaluating PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) response at 6 months after starting treatment provides significantly more powerful and dynamic prognostic information.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #f4f7f6; padding: 20px; border-left: 5px solid #2980b9; margin: 20px 0;\">\n<h4 style=\"margin-top: 0; color: #2c3e50;\">\ud83d\udcca Key Study Data:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Biological response takes precedence:<\/strong> Failing to achieve a complete PSA response at 6 months reduces progression-free survival time by 63% and overall survival time by 43%. In comparison, the static snapshot of high tumor volume is associated with a 21% reduction in survival time (HR: 0.79).<\/li>\n<li><strong>A more powerful indicator:<\/strong> The study shows that patients with high tumor burden who achieve an excellent response at 6 months present better long-term prognoses than those with low baseline volume but poor biological response.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"color: #2980b9; font-size: 16px;\">Our Statistical Contribution<\/h3>\n<p>Working with real-world data requires impeccable analytical treatment.
