<\/span><\/p>\n

Biostatech<\/strong><\/a> celebrates the successful defense of the Industrial Doctorate titled \u201cContributions to joint modelling for longitudinal and survival data from a Bayesian perspective\u201d<\/em>, presented by Jes\u00fas Guti\u00e9rrez Botella<\/strong><\/a> to obtain his PhD degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Scientific direction and leadership<\/h3>\n

In its initial stages, the research was driven at Biostatech by our Scientific Director, Dr. Mar\u00eda Pata<\/strong><\/a>, who helped orient the methodology toward its application in the biomedical sector. Likewise, the development of the thesis was guided and academically led by Dr. Carmen Armero<\/strong><\/a>, Professor at the University of Valencia<\/a> and renowned expert in Bayesian statistics. Thanks to this collaborative effort, complex biostatistical models have been successfully transformed into solutions with high applied value.<\/p>\n

We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to the GRID-BDS<\/strong><\/b><\/a> group (Group of Research in Data Science and BioData Science<\/i>), whose support, collaboration, and continuous backing were fundamental to the development of this research. Furthermore, this thesis stands as a tribute to its initial academic director, Dr. Carmen Cadarso<\/strong>, co-founder and promoter of Biostatech.<\/p>\n

Scientific contribution and clinical application<\/h3>\n

The thesis addresses the formulation and development of Bayesian joint models (joint modelling)<\/strong> applied to the study of heart failure. Specifically, the research comprehensively analyzes cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular mortality patterns in patients undergoing Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT).<\/p>\n

Driven by the scientific guidance from the project’s leadership, the main contribution of this study lies in the design of an advanced analytical tool for real clinical application<\/strong>, key to optimizing personalized medical management and supporting decision-making based on high-precision statistical evidence.<\/p>\n

Recognition and institutional collaboration<\/h3>\n

At Biostatech, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN)<\/a> and the Xunta de Galicia<\/a> for the funding granted through the 2021 Industrial Doctorates<\/strong> program. This institutional support is crucial in backing knowledge transfer initiatives driven within the Galician business ecosystem.<\/p>\n
