Our industrial PhD JesĂșs GutiĂ©rrez Botella has recently published the article:

📄 “Bayesian competing risks survival modeling for assessing the cause of death of patients with heart failure”

In this work, Bayesian competing risks models are developed and applied to study the causes of death (cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular) in patients with heart failure undergoing cardiac resynchronization therapy.

The article contributes advances in:

  • Modeling survival data in the presence of competing risks,
  • Variable selection in Bayesian survival models,
  • Model comparison and evaluation,
  • Clinical interpretation of the survival process using transition probabilities.

This article is directly linked to the Industrial Doctorate “Contributions to joint modeling for longitudinal and survival data from a Bayesian perspective,” which JesĂșs is developing at Biostatech, under the supervision of our scientific director MarĂa Pata and professor Carmen Armero.

Congratulations, JesĂșs, on the publication and on your contribution to the advancement of applied biostatistics.

Our thanks to everyone who collaborated on this publication.
