In this work, Bayesian competing risks models are developed and applied to study the causes of death (cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular) in patients with heart failure undergoing cardiac resynchronization therapy.
The article contributes advances in:
- Modeling survival data in the presence of competing risks,
- Variable selection in Bayesian survival models,
- Model comparison and evaluation,
- Clinical interpretation of the survival process using transition probabilities.
