The 4th scientific meeting of the National Biostatistics Network: Biostatnet will take place in Santiago de Compostela on January 25 and 26, 2019. This event is organized by the coordinating group: the USC Biostatistics Group (GRIDECMB) and Biostatech.
The day before (January 24) the satellite workshop will be held that will deal with «multi-state models with R» and will be taught by prestigious statistics researchers: Jacobo de Uña Álvarez (UVigo) and Luis Filipe Meira Machado (UMinho).
The scientific meeting will begin on January 25th and after the first opening session, Dr. Sharon-Lise Normand from Harvard Medical School (US) will give the guest lecture: “Data Science and Health Policy”. Throughout the day there will be several sessions of oral presentations (senior and young researchers) and posters.
On January 26, two parallel workshops will be held: one on software and the other on scientific dissemination. This will be followed by a round table discussion on Data Science in Health, moderated by Mª Xosé Rodríguez Álvarez and Dae-Jin Lee (Basque Center for Applied Mathematics- BCAM), and finally the event will close with a lecture given by Niklaus Umlauf from the University of Innsbruck (Austria).
