In the second call for Industrial Doctorates of the Xunta de Galicia, Biostatech has been selected with one of the highest scores.
Biostatech thanks the Galician Innovation Agency for granting the 2022 industrial doctorate to Julia García Currás, biostatistician-bioinformatics-genetics from our advisory area.
His doctoral thesis: “Discovery of new biomarkers through cutting-edge proteomic technologies”, represents the multidisciplinary connection between biostatistics & bioinformatics & clinical & computing & proteomics.
The professor at the Universidade da Coruña Guillermo Lopez Taboada, our scientific-technical director: Maria Pata, and Francisco Gude Sampedro, IP of the ResMeT Group of the Santiago de Compostela Health Research Institute and associate professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela will be responsible for the direction of this work.
Among its many objectives, this project aims to implement and apply cutting-edge statistical methodologies and new computational tools, to provide solutions not only in the field of proteomics, but also in the clinic, with the identification of biomarkers that allow the early detection of common diseases such as diabetes.
