II Cycle of Conferences «Biostatistics for living»
On Wednesday May 3, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., the II Cycle of Conferences «Biostatistics for living and how to live off statistics» will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Mathematics of the USC (Campus Vida). In this day, co-organized by Biostatech, some applications of biostatistics in different areas of life will be presented.
It is structured in five talks by renowned researchers, marked with a divulgative approach and aimed at all audiences. The purpose is to transmit to the attendees the various applications that biostatistics has in very diverse areas of life.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Pedro Diz Dios. Associate Professor (USC-SERGAS) and Director of the Special Needs Dentistry Unit at the USC School of Medicine and Dentistry.
- Arturo González Quintela. Professor at the USC School of Medicine.
- Carola Gómez Rodríguez. Researcher at the Biogeography and Molecular Systematics Laboratory (BIBICI-USC).
- Carlos Lago Penas. Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Vigo.
- Fernando Muñoz Guzón. Associate Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Lugo.
They are aimed at university students, professionals in different scientific and technological fields, and in general, at all people who are interested in knowing how statistics can help resolve scientific issues that directly affect our lives.

This series of conferences is organized by the Inbioest Network, the GRIDECMB (USC Interdisciplinary Biostatistics Group) and the BRAINSHARK Group (Development of the Nervous System of Bony and Cartilaginous Fish).
